Hello there.
It has been a long time since I have posted. You could say the reason is because I'm quite lazy to update this blog. Anyway, I'm updating it now. So, Ho Chi Minh City.
My class went to HCM city for an educational tour which many of us regarded as another holiday. It doesn't come cheap though. We had to pay $1180 per person, although that includes the flight to and from Vietnam. It was definitely a good experience, although I suffered a bit there as well.
Let's see... The first day. HCM city is one hour behind Singapore, so we reached at 12.15-12.30pm although my watch says 1315 - 1330.
View from the plane in Singapore.
Road in Vietnam. Reminds me of Taiwan a lot.
We had lunch here.
View from outside the restaurant after we had lunch.
The next place we went. This place leads to the famous Cu chi tunnels where the US army was attacked by the Viet Cong.
Map of the Cu Chi District is in red i think.
One of the methods where the Viet Cong attacked the army - traps. Step on the platform, it rotates and drops you in a room with sharp blades coated with poison sticking out.
Now you don't see it...
Now you do. It's a hidden entrance to the tunnel. Something cool happened here. My big-sized friend tried to enter the entrance as well, and he got stuck. We thought of abandoning him there, but we were kind people, and it took around 5 min to attempt to get him out.
Another entrance. Why there's a difference in size, I know not.
My class. I'm at the top right of the picture, crouching away so that my friend can be seen.
One of the many traps the Viet Cong made.
The Cu Chi tunnel. It's extremely small and I had to duck-walk, until my legs were so pain i decided to crouch and walk, such that my body was bent to a 90 deg angle. And although there were ventilation holes it was extremely stuffy inside. We walked for around 1 min, and i came out sweating profusely. Amusingly the people behind me disappeared. I wanted to catch up with the front people because I couldn't navigate in the dark at all. I had to use the camera flash to brighten up the place. I can't imagine a bomb exploding over me and me getting stuck at that uncomfortable position in a stuffy place without food, water.
The light at the end of the tunnel. Turns out, the people behind me couldn't catch up. I remember calling out for them and no one responding. They took a wrong turn and exited at another exit instead.
Dinner. My stomach started feeling uncomfortable here. It's a damn cool restaurant; the entire platform that we were on rotates! I came out from the lift and realised my table has moved. So cool!
View from outside the hotel. We didn't stay in this hotel; we entered the hotel just to eat only.
Ah, this one's cool. We were playing with my friend's laser pointer and managed to shine it at a building far away. :D
Picture from the hotel we stayed over at. You can see me in the picture.
Ok, that was the first day in Vietnam on the 15th Jan. Talking about it right now makes me feel like going back there again. Probably because my life was free from troubles there. There was virtually nothing to worry about, there were friends around me every hour. Didn't feel lonely there at all. Ah well.
Will post about the second day tomorrow if i have the time. And the second day is the worst day ever in my life with 6-7 (can't remember) unfortunate events taking place. You want to know about it, visit my blog two days later :P I usually post stuff at night.
:)
