Blue energy, osmotic power plant or salinity gradient power is the energy retrieved from the difference in the salt concentration between seawater and river water. Two practical methods for this are Reverse Electrodialysis (RED), or Pressure Retarded Osmosis (PRO). Both processes rely on osmosis with ion specific membranes. The key waste product is brackish water. This byproduct is the result of natural forces that are being harnessed: the flow of fresh water into seas that are made up of salt water. The technologies have been confirmed in laboratory conditions. They are being developed into commercial use in the Netherlands (RED) and Norway (PRO). The cost of the membrane has been an obstacle. A new, cheap membrane, based on an electrically modified polyethylene plastic, made it fit for potential commercial use.
Seriously I have no idea wat type of energy is retrieved, but who noes one day it may be able to produce electricity!
It was the 11th of March. Ryan's birthday and the day i went out for a movie called 10,000 BC. And so Yong Kuan, brandon, Cheryl Ong, Vanesse, Shiya and Li Ting, I, and as it was Ryan's birthday he wanted to tag along so i invited him. The movie started at 2pm, but all of us went damn early. And so we bought the tickets and the so-called money collector must be mad at us for we paid our movie tickets separately.
Basically it was about a primitive man on a quet to saved his loved one. Throughout the journey bad and funy things happened.
After the movie, we left the movie theatre, to the second level of Jurong point. Lots of elmos were found at the toy-r-us store. suddenly brandon ran back to the exit point of Hall 5, where we watched the movie. Ryan and I Stopped him from doing so. He said he left his bag in the theatre. Entering the exit point was as good as watching a movie without paying for the ticket entering via the exit. One word: CRAP, and brandon ran up the third floor, and i followed him. We ran like mad towards the golden village thny and told the same person who gave us the tickets about the leaving of the bag in the theatre, and within 5 minutes he came back with the bag. We thanked him.
After that we went to Swensens to have a snack. I ordered ice cappunico and it came with coffee at the bottom and cream at the top. Drank the coffee at the bottom (very bitter) and forgot to mix the cream with the coffee and i ended up with only the cream. Luckily there was still coffee powder in the cream and i mixed them together. Yummy. Watever happened not concerning me, i dont know.
After that the girls and Brandon went home, I went to Old Chang Kee and bought some foodstuffs, wile Yong Kuan's mum was at Jurong Point and so was meeting her there, and Ryan tagged along. Then i went home.
Although there were other things that happened, i was lazy to type them out. Overall I had the best time ever together with my friends.
