Hell.
Today my friends and I were meant to go to the music studio for band practice. I was granted leave. I booked the studio beforehand already and the guy recorded my booking. Therefore, I was surprised when the studio was closed today. After waiting outside the studio the guy in charge of the studio was outside. Here's our conversation.
Guy: Hey what are all of you doing here?
Friend: We booked the studio.
Guy: When did you book the studio?
Me: Er, I don't remember.
Guy: I have no records of any studio bookings for today.
Me: But when I called, you said the studio was free today and we could use it! I was the one who was spamming your phone line by calling 8 times!
Guy: I don't have any records.
The guy then took his book of records.
Guy: Yup, no bookings for today. Do you know the name of the person who picked up the phone call?
Me: Er, no.
Guy: Anyway, I am renting out these instruments today so you can't use the studio. Sorry.
... ...
If I'm not wrong he's the only one working there. In fact I called around 5.30pm, and I do remember that at 5.30pm he was still in the studio. So something was definitely wrong. And because of this I don't get to earn an extra SGD 40. Really irritating. And the studio's quite far from my home. We all guessed that perhaps our booking was really there, except that he forgot that he was going to rent out his instruments and so we can't use the studio.
Damn.
So my friends and I went around some shopping centres instead. I bought a Boss Overdrive/Distortion pedal which was originally priced at SGD 160 but then because of some "Christmas Sale" the price was cut down to SGD 90. Hell, that's almost a 20% discount. And I thought I had to bargain to lower the price.

I like this pedal. It offers two distortion levels - overdrive and distortion. For this pedal, with the drive setting to max (max distortion), the overdrive sounds very full and warm, whereas the distortion sounds hard and it seems that it does not have a flat frequency response. Allows me to use both settings in one amp. Very nice. And for SGD 90, it's a good thing. Except that now when I play through my headphones, the distortion sounds extra fuzzy and the overdrive sounds normal.
After getting the pedal we stayed in the shop where I bought my pedal for my friend to try out an electronic drumset. Once he gets his drumset we shall practice at his house. Then communication problems like the one above won't happen.
Hell.
